The only pub remaining on Mount Street and been a drinking establishment for more than a hundred years. Stables were located behind the premises. Became known as the Top Hat for a short period in the 1970s but reverted back to its old name later on.
The licensee in 1986 was David Willis and was owned by Burtonwood Ales.
